Some things can’t be planned. Sometimes, you’re thrown into a situation where you have to build your story in the moment. That’s been my experience with on-location behind-the-scenes (BTS) shoots—where my job is to accurately represent the event while staying out of the way. It’s a delicate dance, bringing the audience into the world of a commercial shoot without inserting myself into the action.

This two-day whirlwind shoot was an incredible experience, following WWE Superstars through one of the biggest productions I’ve been on set for. Jumping from location to location, I captured quick sound bites from celebrities like Rhea Ripley, Big E, and streaming sensation TimTheTatman, and seized blink-and-you-miss-it moments like a mannequin being hurled through a plate glass window. Turning these spontaneous elements into a cohesive narrative in the edit made this project one I’m especially proud of.
